Giving Back

I am not sure I realized it about myself until the past few years, but I really like helping people succeed in what they are trying to do.  Perhaps this is my highest and best ‘use.’  So far this has consisted of:  my mentoring programs (for Black people and women seeking to grow real estate careers) and the establishment – with my wife – of The Sweetie Pig Foundation to ‘spread joy and happiness in the world.’

Access to Capital

I have developed an extraordinary number of relationships with many of the most respected investors in the real estate world, all of which are interested in investing with high quality real estate counterparties.  I will continue my work bringing these parties together and have formalized this initiative by registering myself with licensed securities firm Tangent Capital.  With Tangent’s help I will be able to be ‘useful’ in providing access to capital to enable smaller sized players to achieve their growth initiatives.  Notably, no fees will be charged to clients of my law firm, Duval & Stachenfeld LLP.

Business Building

For close to 15 years, though my role as a partner in Duval & Stachenfeld LLP, I have been of great ‘use’ to my clients in utilizing my understanding of the underpinnings of the real estate industry, my access to resources and my deal-making skills to help real estate players “Grow Their Businesses.”  I will enhance this to a deeper level through The Useful Bruce.

  1. Always try to reach “impossible” goals
  2. Seek the “truth” at all times.
  3. Word Hard – don’t “waste” time, learn to “spend” time.
  4. Don’t always take the conventional path.
  5. Think Creatively – apply deliberate practice to thinking.

  7. Enjoy teaching others what you have learned so they can be successful as well.
